A sound was bubbling in my heart as I prepped for work this morning. The sound kept playing even after I got to work and tried settling down to commence the day's activities.

T'was just a line of the song that kept coming to my heart... "Agbe o ga oba tiwa."

Decided to go check it out on YouTube and Google.

Mummy Funmi Aragbaye sang it originally. But I found a version of it by Segun Shaba. 

After listening to the sound over and over again, I found out it's both a praise to God and a declaration of allegiance to Him.

Hello brethren, 

I found this scripture this morning. Many of us might have seen it before, though, but I thought to share.

"When right-living people bless the city, it flourishes; evil talk turns it into a ghost town in no time" (Proverbs 11:11, MSG). 

Brethren, it's important we know that as believers and as a church in places, we matter. We don't need to be known, but we matter to the flourishing of places.

The city might not be doing well. And because we feel the pain of ills in that city, too, we feel obligated to speak against the city and its leadership.

It's understandable. 

But I'm saying that according to this scripture, we wield an invisible, supernatural influence over our cities. 

In blessing the city continually, the city flourishes.

This is part of the reasons why Jesus calls us the salt of the earth. It's not just in how we live but also in what we say.

God is in our midst; we shall not be moved.
God shall help us, and that right early...

Oh God of creation, we humbly request that you direct us as a nation during the forthcoming elections. 

Guide citizens, including our leaders, right.

Help our youths know the truth. Reveal truth to us that we may channel our energies with truth.

Help us to grow in love and honesty... Let the walls and systems that divide crumble.

Let justice and truth be the order of the day in this nation. That we may attain great and lofty heights globally.

And building a nation where peace and justice shall reign, a praise among the nations of the earth... Amen.
