Every man must ADORE. You were made to bow. If you don't bow to God, you will bow to something else.
What you adore, you will become. You cannot adore beyond your vision, and you cannot see beyond your adoration. Beholding is becoming. "As we behold, we are changed" 2 Cor 3:18.
What you adore, you begin to beautify your eyes for. You paint your eyes to be seen by it. This was Jezebel by the window, painting her face to be admired by a king who would not save her. 2 Kings 9:30.Many have dolled their eyes for men, for pulpit, for money. It is all form, no fire. Beautiful eyes, but no light inside.
And what you doll your eyes for outside God, will make your eyes dull to God. When your eyes are full of vanity, they become empty of vision. "They have eyes, and see not " Psalm 115:5. "Their eyes they have closed, lest at any time they should see" Matthew 13:15. You can sit in the presence and see nothing, because your eyes were busy being beautiful for another god.
And a dull eye will always make an idol. Because a dull eye cannot stand emptiness, it must manufacture something to look at. So it changes the glory of God into an image. "Romans 1:23. Your idol is not just a statue - your idol is the picture you created of what you wished God was, to justify what you adore.
But there is a HIGH DOOR! Idols are low doors - you must bow down to enter them. But Jesus is the High Door - you must lift up your head to enter Him! _Lift up your heads, O ye gates, and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors - Psalm 24:7._ _I am the Door, by Me if any man enter, he shall be saved - John 10:9._ You cannot carry your doll, your dullness, and your idol into this Door. You must drop them and look up.

Stop adoring idols, and you will stop dolling your eyes.
Stop dolling your eyes, and your dull eyes will become single again.
_If thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light - Matthew 6:22._
And when your eye is single, you will see the High Door has been open all along
I ADORED idols, so I DOLLED my eyes, my eyes went DULL, until I lifted them to the HIGH DOOR, and my adoration was healed!
