Child Safety Standards
Our zero-tolerance policy on child sexual abuse and exploitation.
Effective October 23, 2026
Brethreign is a faith community for sharing testimonies, prayer and encouragement. These standards apply to the website at brethreign.com and the Brethreign apps for iPhone and Android. Protecting children is part of how we love our neighbour, and we treat any threat to a child as the most serious kind of harm on our platform.
Zero tolerance
Brethreign prohibits child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) of any kind. This includes:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM): any image, video, audio, drawing or text that sexualises a minor.
- Grooming: building trust with a minor in order to exploit or abuse them, including moving the conversation elsewhere.
- Sexual or romantic messages to minors, or asking a minor for images, personal details or to meet in person.
- Sextortion, trafficking, or any content that promotes, praises or normalises the abuse of children.
Accounts that break these rules are removed permanently, and the person may not create a new account.
Who can use Brethreign
You must be at least 13 years old to have an account, and members under the age of majority need a parent's or guardian's permission (see our Terms of Use). Profiles do not show anyone's date of birth.
How to report
Anyone can report a concern, and every report is reviewed by a person:
- In the app or on the website: use the flag (Report) option on any post, comment or message.
- Block: you can block anyone from messaging you at any time.
- By email: write to [email protected] with "Child safety" in the subject. Include a link to the post or profile if you can. Please do not attach or forward abusive images; a link is enough.
If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local police or emergency services first.
What we do when we find it
- We remove the content and suspend the account as soon as we are aware of it.
- We preserve the evidence securely so it can be given to law enforcement.
- We report child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to the relevant authorities in the country where it was found, as the law requires.
- We cooperate fully with law enforcement investigations.
Prevention
- New posts are checked by automated moderation, and our moderators review flagged content.
- Members can block anyone from messaging them.
- We review these standards regularly and update them as the law and best practice change.
Compliance
Brethreign complies with applicable child safety laws, including the obligation to report child sexual abuse material to the appropriate authorities.
